For this blog, I created a survey for my potential audience to voice their feedback. This will help me to get a better idea on what people want out of my magazine, and to better shape my vision on how it will look.

Men's Fashion Content
In a men's fashion magazine, readers can be expected to find information on the latest trends on men's attire. This will be mainly presented by models wearing said clothing in highly edited photo shoots. The goal of which is to look appealing enough to so readers will be enticed to purchase. Another aspect will be the inclusion of influencers in the industry such as models or celebrities. This will be showcased by either recommendations or interviews from said figures. Lastly, additional products may also be advertise as way to allure readers who want to look their best. Products such as colognes, footwear and watches.
Reflection
Its clear that a large portion of the content found in Men's fashion magazine are different ways to sell attire and clothing. While I was aware of this, I never knew the extent in which magazines would sell clothing, no less the different ways in which they do.

Men's Fashion Magazine
Men's fashion magazine is used to promote and advertise the latest men's attire and clothing. As stated in the title, the main audience of men's fashion magazine would be males interested in keeping up to date with popular fashion trends or men. Covers of this genre will showcase a male model sporting whatever attire is popular at the time.

Scholarly
These articles are typically written by professors in colleges ad universities, with respect to the specific topic. These types of articles are written in a way that's well documented with a bibliography featuring the documented sources, and with very little advertising. Audience includes are scholars in that respected field.
Trade
Trade magazines are publications aimed at a specific field or job. Naturally these articles are written by those who work in that respected field. Audience makes up those who either work or follow that carer.
Popular
Popular articles are the most well known of the three types, featuring magazines and newspapers. These are written by professional or free lance writers. While these types of magazines are geared toward the general public, specific magazines can be tailored towards a specific group, depending on the genre and topic.

Reflection
While I had been aware of the common popular magazine, I never really knew about scholarly and trade. But while reading over the three main types of magazine, I consider it a good thing that there are different types that appeal to different people interest beyond just drama and gossip as seen in the popular. magazine.
For this blog post I will be going over the history of magazines and commenting my thoughts on it in a reflection
History of Magazines
The invention of the printing press in 1440 revolutionized how knowledge can be shared throughout society. Rather than having to copy everything down by hand, the printing press could easily print out hundreds of books,pamphlets and newsletters. In 1663 Johann Rist created one of the earliest magazines titled the "Edifying Monthly Discussions". It had summarized the latest books and scholarly articles. During this time in 1672, Jean Donneau de Vizé would publish the Le Mercure Galant, which was a periodical which featured the latest songs, news and gossip. Moving into the 1700's, there would be an increase in literacy among the populace. This would pave the way for the rise in popularity of magazines, such as The Gentlemen's Magazine, published by Edward Cave, and Daniel Defoe's The Review. However, many of these magazines were only really made for those who could afford it, so the content of which was not as diverse as seen today. But as magazines become more affordable during the 1800's, the shift in audience would introduce a much wider range of topics.

Reflection
Going over the history of magazine's really opened my eyes o how much the concept of a magazine is a pure example of the world entering a new age.People become not only more literate, but also much more interested about the world around them. And as magazines would continue to rise in popularity over the years, this concept of being able to easily access the latest news and information would play a major influence in society and how the world worked in general
How I achieved the look
How I achieved the look of my table of contents was by taking a template from canva and edited it to my style. I uploaded pictures of myself in a formal look to go along with the cover and edited the font style to math. For the font style I changed it arapey for a more dignified and colored it a turquoise for a lighter tone. The layout was setup so the images were aligned with each other on the left side, while the tile "Table of contents" along with some blank text was set on the right side of the page.

House style is the various tools and methods companies will use to enhance the quality of their magazine covers.
Reflect on the idea of each magazine having a House Style.
Each magazine having its own unique house style is important because it gives the magazine cover its own identity and makes them more distinct from other magazine covers.
How do you think House Styles are developed?
House styles are developed using various techniques such as color pallet, fonts and typography, margins and white space, and graphics and logo's.

House style is used to enhance a brands image and to grab a person't attention
How might House Styles be influenced by their genre of magazine?
If the magazine were one that focused on beauty, the house style would be used to draw attention to the mode's appearance. Where as, if the magazine was one that was news focused, the font would be large to enhance a headline.
Has this idea of House Styles changed the way you look at magazines?
Now knowing the amount of effort and the different techniques that hose style utilize's, my understanding and appreciation of magazines has grown.
